Murphy’s law application for antigravitatory cats

This seems to be the best laid out argument for this. Now I just need a donor cat for the testing.

Perhaps not the most pertinent article to life, but after browsing the web, and tearing myself from playing WoW. This brings me back a few years and made me think of some of the good fun times playing CS with teh “consultants”

Where have I been?

[ ]   —   10:11 am

I guess it has been a while since the last update. Many things have changed, many things have remained the same. It has been a good time, and more recently things have started to become less stressful. I have decreased the total number of hours I am working and therefore have increased my overall mental health and hopefully decreased my hair loss. I suppose a simple regimen of rogaine would help with that, but what does it matter really.

I wish I could get away from the city more often, more camping, more hiking, more fishing. I guess I worked myself silly too long through the year and missed most opportunities, but hopefully next year should be better. Perhaps I can even get the opportunity to get out and do some fall/winter camping. Again this year, take advantage of what might be my last opportunities to go camping up in the woods of Twin Lakes. I guess I really only was able to go camping on the holiday weekends that mark the beginning and end of summer. I had opportunity to find an old friend and have some good chats about life and what has happened in the last few years. See a few other old friends at a wedding of a High School buddy. Congrats John and Jackie.

I have been able to get away from dealing with computers for myself and others on a regular basis, and I believe that it has had a good effect on me. My eyesight has improved a bit and I am now wearing a weaker prescription. I still don’t wear the contacts as much, but what does that really matter. At least I have them and will be able to wear them when I need to or don’t want to wear the glasses. The little biking I got out to do this year was good, but again, like most things not nearly enough or as much as I would have liked. There are other things that overrule what fun activities can be enjoyed. For now I suppose I will get back to cooking a little something up and hopefully get a chance to update this little part of the web more often.

A look back …

[ ]   —   5:09 am

So here it is, I thought for sure I would be somewhere else 10 years later. Apparently not, not that I’m in a bad place, just not really what I would have expected so many years ago when standing in front of the crowd at St. Albert’s surrounded by friends and family. I do really wish I could remember what I was thinking my life would be like down the road, I believe just ending my freshman year of HS I was still not really sure what I wanted to do with my life, but I did know that I wanted to help people, which eventually pushed me toward the pre-med program.

Life has changed, I still want to help people, but not so much in the medical sense, though I guess I do that indirectly in a way right now. I do want to be able to make a difference in the world, not necessarily for one or two individuals in particular, but for everyone as a whole. The way I look at it, I might even begin to pursue that goal in another 4 years or so.

This seems almost too vague for me to understand, but such is life, I need to post a little like Rusty every so often. And now to steer away from that, Go Sox, Go Rush, keep on suckin’ it up Cubbies.

Beautiful weather

[ ]   —   12:30 pm

So finally winter has broken. THe nice weather is her, and looks like it is here to stay. There have been a few things happening lately, nothing too particularly exciting. The new job is actually enjoyable, which I have not been able to find in a while, as far as a full time gig anyhow. I have been enjoying the part time job for a while, that one is mostly just mindless working so that should not make too much of a difference to most people, and those of us that need some time to think are afforded that when you spend several hours a day driving around. I no longer have to deal with answering people’s questions about computers and what they are doing wrong with them for my occupation. I can finally get back to enjoying dealing with a computer and using one at work as nothing more than a tool.

I have come to win my second Pinewood derby of the year, which I must say was quite enjoyable, more so than the last. I know it was more fun because of the people, having more people around as well as more people participating makes the whole day more fun. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish my car prior to the race due to a paint malfunction the day before. I hope to finish off the paint job one of these days, but for now I am enjoying having some time where I am not constantly working on something, and I no have black dust come out when I blow my nose. There was a good deal of good natured ribbing amongst the participants, which I am happy to emphasize again, I beat them all. There was even a cameo from my dear brother and an old co-worker as well. I wish I could tell people the secret to building a better car, but I really dont know if I have that answer. pictures are available on my brother’s gallery here.

Things they are a-changin

[ ]   —   1:26 pm

Well I would like to say that I have had more time to do what I would like, just free time to BS around, unfortunately I have not really. This past week I managed to get working into a new job, training at this job anyhow. It looks like it may very well be something that I will enjoy, all I can truly say for sure is that I am most definately glad to not be taking calls and support email from people with stupid computer problems. Better than anything was the change to not be taking stupid computer questions from China. More interviews and opportunities seem to be making themselves available, which is cool, but again a bit odd that it will work this way. Everything becomes available after I start in on a new project. The pay is pretty good, I still get my benefits, and there are some darn pretty cool perks. Though I will eventually be moving to 2nd shift weekend, I will be working my entire week in 3 12 hour shifts, the other job during the week, it will be nice tos pread out the 60-70 hours of work.

The pinewood is coming along, and should be finished by the weekend, I look forward to finishing off this project. I also want to be able to get back to the Wright Flyer I have sitting in progress. Perhaps tacklet this old Aviatik berg project that I need to finish, which has been sitting around for a few years. Maybe even get a few lasering ideas I have in. Only time will tell.
