Dificulties
I think it is just somehow in my nature to figure out the most difficult way to achieve some task. I don’t really care what it is really, I will work it out and figure out what I am doing and inevitably I will find out that I have been trying entirely too hard to accomplish the goal. Most often nobody will say anything to me, and I will feel like a genius when I get to where I am going, but I do believe this is just due to the fact that noody really cares what I am doing most often. Heck I even have problems sometimes myself caring particularly what I am doing.
This leads back to several projects I have undertaken. For one the web-design stuff. I guess I really don’t have enough of a driving desire to learn how to do things properly and efficiently so that is where that one will end. Though at least I don’t feel that I am starting over from scratch everytime I work on something, just several steps back from where I probably ought to be.
For those of you that remember, I was at some point, long long ago attempting to attach a NES controller to the PC for use playing old games on an emulator. I know most people thought it was a pretty fruitless cause, which indeed it was. I just wanted to see if I had the mad skillz to get it done. After some working and whatnot, I was able to make it work, but not as well as I would have truly hoped. The method employed, made it work over a serial connection, which I guess is the right way to go, but why did I never look to the next easier step, and make the device more compatible with new hardware that does not come with the 9-pin serial port? I have since found the method for doing this via a USB connection and I am dying to give it a shot, maybe when time and money are leaning more on my side.
So really there must be a multitude of other things that I am doing the half-assed-backwards-way but don’t even realize it. I know some people out there would be more than willing to tell me what im doing wrong and how to alleviate my problems, which might be well and good. Chances are I wouldn’t listen to most people anyhow, so I gues who cares. Its not like many people read this anyways, just a place to spout off random stuf in the middle of the night.

If I knew that you were still trying to get that Nintendo thing working, I would have recommedned the USB be way. I personally think it is a lot easier to get working.
But, what you should really do, is just make an adapter for the an xbox controller. It is really easy, and a much better control.

I read. I care. Don’t make me come all the way back to Michigan to smack you around.

yeah, but if you look at it in hte big picture, it is always about taking little steps to get somewhere or to accomplish something. little but little everything will add up and and skills will come together to make things easier, seriously, that is the point of figuring things out. the first wooden chair that i make took over a month to complete, and when all said and done it was lop sided and wobbly (or maybe that was just all the beer) but time after time i went back and figured out hte little things to make it easier. when it comes to technology there is just a never end amount of thigns that can make the job easier and make more sense.
